ROXAS City — The number of families evacuated amid the onslaught of typhoon “Yolanda” in Capiz has reached 76.
Sixty-six family evacuees were living along coastal areas in President Roxas town while 10 were residing in barangays Sto. Rosario and Binaobawan in Pilar.
They were taken to the evacuation centers put up in their respective towns.
Most of them left their homes for fear of the dangers that the super typhoon will bring.
Meanwhile, Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. reminded the residents along coastal areas all over the province to be vigilant.
Leave your homes immediately once you sense danger, the governor said.
Action centers were put up in the two districts in Capiz where rescue units and dump trucks are on standby for rescue operations.
The rescue units were composed of personnel from the Capiz Emergency Response Team, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division./PN
