KALIBO, Aklan — Two lawyers made it to the winning set of Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members in Aklan this mid-term elections.
They were Harry Sucgang of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and come-backing SP member, Plaridel Morania of the Liberal Party (LP).
Proclaimed winners by Provincial Election Supervisor Roberto Salazar late last week, they completed the set from the Eastern side.
Sucgang described his election bid as a “hard-fought campaign against the Aklan giants.”
“I truly appreciate your trust and confidence in me,” he told his supporters. “Saeamat (Thank you) for all your help and effort in my bid for SP.”
Emmanuel Soviet Russia dela Cruz (LP), Rodson Mayor (UNA) and Lilian Tirol (LP) were proclaimed ahead as winning SP members from the Eastern side.
Re-electionist Jose Enrique Miraflores (LP) led the race in the Western side.
He was followed by come-backing Ramon Gelito (LP), former Ibajay mayor Roberto Garcia Jr. (UNA), outgoing Malay town councilor Esel Flores (LP) and outgoing Ibajay vice mayor Nelson Santamaria (LP).
