Murder suspect collared
PULUPANDAN – Local policemen here arrested a murder suspect
on Wednesday noon in Brgy. Patic.
Chief Insp. Jefferson Descallar of the Operations and Plans
Branch of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO)
identified the suspect as 30-year-old Dennis Aranas.
Aranas was collared by policemen led by Insp. Joshua Villasis
and elements of the Negros Occidental Provincial Public Safety
Management Company by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by
Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge George Patriarca of Branch
45-Bacolod City.
Patriarca recommended no bail for the suspect's temporary release.
Meanwhile, in Hinigaran, Aderiano Velasco, 20, of Hacienda Manucaobi,
Brgy. Bato was arrested for frustrated murder by local policemen.
Senior Insp. Sonny Boy Bernus, police chief, said Velasco was
arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by RTC Judge
Nilo Sarsaba of Branch 56-Himamaylan City. Bail for his provisional
liberty was set at P200,000.(NOPPO-PIO/PN) Illegal

CADIZ City - An improvised shotgun, ammunition, illegal drugs
and paraphernalias were recovered by responding policemen
here from a suspect subject of a complaint of a neighbor in
Brgy. Tiglawigan on Wednesday morning.
Chief Insp. Noel Mana-ay, police chief, identified the arrested
suspect as Marlon Puyos.
Mana-ay said policemen recovered from the suspect an improvised
shotgun with one live ammunition, a sachet of suspected shabu
and an improvised tooter.
An ice pick was seized from the suspect who is currently detained
at the Cadiz City Police Station.
Puyos is facing charges for violation of the firearms ban,
Presidential Decree 1866 and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.(NOPPO-PIO/PN)

BACOLOD City – Forty-three personnel of the Bacolod
City Police Office were promoted to the next higher rank as
of December 31, 2009.
Those promoted are SPO4s Eduardo M. Garcia and Marilou B.
Alfonso; SPO3s Victor P. Daprinal, Joeven V. Lavilla and Ricardo
H. Gonzales; SPO2s Oscar D. Exaltado, Arlyn T. Torrendon,
Jonito C. Pastrana, Gary A. Bauron and Florentino M. Abalayan;
PO3s Abelardo G. Berlin Jr., Gilberto M. Pineda Jr., Richard
C. Delasa, Alexis C. Disomangcop, and Yasmin P. Mana-ay; and
PO2s Edward P. Alejano, Daryl J. Alferez, Walter C. Alunan,
Chimbun J. Anabo, Elmer F. Bonilla, Julius L. Dacles Jr.,
Warren L. De la Cerna, Noli A. Fregil, Joel B. Gacho, Jimmy
