LAPSUS CALAMI

CONGRATS TO CONG. JUN-JUN TUPAS
CONGRESSMAN Jun-Jun Tupas of the 5th District of Iloilo is doing good in the House of Representatives.
He is now the vice chairman of the Committee on Justice and member of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA).
One of the most outstanding members of the House, Cong. Jun-Jun will go a long way henceforth. Aside from being an erudite and brilliant lawmaker, the young Tupas’ performance as representative is quite impressive and laudable.
Indeed, his constituents and the Ilonggos in general are very proud of him.
Congrats and kudos!

JANIUAY POLICE STATION
FOR this small office that has few electric bulbs, the municipal government paid P7,000 for its electricity bill last April.
The following month of May, the bill went up to P17,000! Whew!
This month of June, the electricity expense of this office was P7,000 again!
We really doubt the amount because for such office with not more than 10 bulbs, the electricity expense would not cost more than P5,000 a month.
Somebody must have doctored the meter, or maybe there is a magician in the town’s PNP office.
Say mo, ex-Mayor Ben?
Mayor Frankie “dies-dies” smiling!

‘ANG SENIOR CITIZENS GANG’
TO help senior citizens in Iloilo and in the region as a whole, lawyer Nardz Jiz has put up an association called “Ang Senior Citizens Gang.”
The objective of this new organization is to render legal assistance to senior citizens against establishments who violate the law on senior citizens.
What are the benefits under the new law, what its programs are and what should be done in case any provision of this law is violated by any establishments, are some of the things that this organization will deal with.

GOV. TANCO LETS BYGONES BE BYGONES
CAPIZ Gov. Vic Tanco has a laudable habit of forgetting and forgiving those who opposed him during the last elections.
Since the fire of politics simmered down, it is about time to move forward and work for the good of the province, according to the handsome governor.
That is why he accepted the invitation of Mayor Turic Orosco of Sapian town during its recent fiesta as guest of honor and speaker.
Orosco supported Joc-Joc, who ran for governor against Gov. Vic.
The second-termer mayor said elections are temporary and it is about time to move and serve the people.
“For as long as the governor is helping us, we will support his programs and policies,” he told his town mates.
Besides, he had been a supporter of Tanco for three years and he has nothing personally against the governor, Mayor Turic added.
As the Spaniards say, Errar es humano, perdonar es divino.
Say mo, Ting?
Zoo “dies-dies” laughing!

BEWARE OF THIS EMPLOYEE
IN Bacolod City, at the Registrar’s Office, one casual employee demands from petitioners for change of name or other legal notice needing publication, and that she should be the one to take charge of the publication.
She then gives the publication to a weekly tabloid that has only about a hundred copies circulation and pays P500 only.
The publication calls for three consecutive issues. And, as the law requires, it should be published in a widely read newspaper of general circulation.
Paki sampal nga s’ya, Mayor Bing.
Say mo, Inday Ma’am Avelyn?
Josefa “dies-dies” laughing!

TURMOIL IN ANTIQUE
ABOUT 100 employees in the province of Antique are being persecuted by the new administration of Gov. Boy Ex due to political color or affiliation.
Their salaries and benefits, of which they are entitled to under the law, have been downgraded to their old rates.
Due to demoralization, almost all official transactions are paralyzed because the concerned employees cannot in good conscience obey hook line and sinker the command of the ugly tyrant who is too drunk of his temporal power and glory.
We urge them to fight for their rights and prove to all and sundry that they are not made of stone, but they have feelings and rational attributes capable of doing what is right and what is wrong.
Like the naughty and wicked King Nebuchadnezzar of the old Babylon, this petty Antique tyrant will soon disappear from the face of the earth.
Say mo, Inday Dodod?
Inday Sally “dies-dies” laughing!
