MAYOR Jed Patrick Mabilog of Iloilo City delivered his State of the City Address (SOCA) yesterday.
He discussed his 10-point agenda – which are all positive indicators of growth and development for “My City, My Pride.”
As what other heads of government offices do, what appear in the paper are all good intentions. They are pro-people and for development and growth.
Problem is the implementation.
Good things and good plans are easier said than done.
It is at this juncture, however, that we beg and beseech the handsome mayor to be mature, not childish, not onion-skinned to criticisms – and to respect press freedom and the Fourth Estate as they do their duty to denounce, censure and condemn the abuses and excesses of other estates.

Do you agree, City Legal Officer Jun Jacela?
