These policemen arrested Roland Estante in Brgy. Binangbang Barrio, Barbaza.
Estante had pending cases for “carnapping” and robbery in Moises Padilla and La Castellana towns in Negros Occidental.
During Estante’s arrest on October 28, policemen recovered from him one Pietro Beretta model .9mm pistol and magazine with seven live cartridges.
With these recoveries, the Barbaza police charged with Estante with yet another case – violation of the Commission on Elections’ gun ban vis-à-vis the barangay election.
“The suspect was considered a high-profiled fugitive,” said Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., director of the Police Regional Office 6.
“Arresting a wanted person means solving three to four criminal cases, as one criminal is capable of committing several violations of law,” Cruz added./PN
