THIS summer, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu is offering a new mix of water sports and scheduled complimentary recreational activities suitable for the whole family.

Aqua enthusiasts can now count sea walking as a must-try activity when in the resort. The Seawalker provides an underwater experience that allows adults and children as young as eight years old to enjoy a leisurely walk along the sea floor. With the aid of a helmet that provides a steady supply of oxygen, guests will be able to view a variety of marine life, with more than 50 species of fish, corals and other sea creatures living harmoniously together at the Shangri-La Marine Sanctuary.

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu’s sports and recreation team has also introduced new complimentary activities to keep guests active and entertained during their stay. The new activities include action-packed beach volleyball games, water polo and kick aerobics, and families can take pleasure in discovering more about the resort while developing their team skills by joining the enhanced Mactan Family Challenge. Meanwhile, guests in need of rest and relaxation will benefit from scheduled yoga classes conducted at CHI, The Spa and the resort’s Chapel garden.

Families can enjoy a brighter summer with the resort’s Local Residents Package. With rates beginning at P6,500++, guests enjoy an overnight stay with buffet breakfast for two adults and two children below 12 years old, unlimited use of non-motorized water sports facilities, daily round-trip city shuttle transfers, access to the Health Club’s facilities, broadband Internet access, local calls and scheduled complimentary activities.

The Local Residents Package is valid until April 30, 2010 with a surcharge of P3,000++ during the Easter period (March 31 to April 5, 2010).
