KALIBO, Aklan – All government employees from the executive to contractual level must follow the example of simplicity shown by President Benigno Simeon Aquino III, said Rep. Florencio Miraflores.

Miraflores said he was part of the reception committee during Aquino's State of the Nations Address (SONA) on Monday afternoon.

He was “amazed by the image of simplicity portrayed by the President.”

"It is now time for all government employees to live with simple lifestyle to reflect service for the people," he said.

In his third term in the lower house, Miraflores is batting for chairmanship of the committee on tourism.

"So far, based on initial discussions with the majority, it is likely that they will give me the chairmanship on tourism,” he said. “We will know the final decision probably next week."

Miraflores said the lower house will surely have a “colorful” deliberation on the floor under Aquino’s leadership. (PNA)
